Oar-some day for the IE team!

In glorious sunshine, IE’s crew of pirates took to the high seas of the River Wye in Herefordshire, to embark upon an 11 mile voyage on the annual IE away day. Although, it soon became a case of River Why-o-why for four of the team as their boats capsized.

With races, lunch on the river bank and a well-earned drink at the pub following our 11 mile row, the day was enjoyed by all.

Carl Willimott, Pascaline Piot and Dan McQue’s boat ended up winning the race, but complaints soon ensued that the race had been rigged, as their boat had more people. Stern words from IE’s MD were needed to put the rowing to rest…That’s the last boat pun we promise!

This is not the first time the IE team has been canoeing. IE’s Captain Ollie Leggett commented: “We love the River Wye – we've done this route four times before and have always enjoyed it. It was a real bonus this year to have such great weather. Not a single drop of rain… canoe believe it?”
